Backpack Peoria 2026

Join PMI Central Illinois as we partner with Dream Center Peoria for Backpack Peoria, a community outreach event that helps local students and families prepare for the upcoming school year.

Backpack Peoria aims to provide 2000 backpacks, school supplies, community resources, dental exams, school physicals, haircuts, and other services to families throughout the Peoria area.

Volunteer Opportunities

A variety of volunteer roles and time slots are available throughout the day, beginning as early as 6:30 a.m. and continuing through event teardown in the afternoon.

Volunteer activities include opportunities such as:

• Event setup
• Family assistance and guest support
• Resource distribution
• Cheer and encouragement teams
• Event operations support
• Teardown and cleanup

Many volunteer assignments range from 90 minutes to 4 hours, and volunteers do not need to stay for an entire time block.

Chapter leadership is exploring an informal post-event gathering for volunteers at a local downtown venue. Additional details will be shared as they become available.
