Abstract:

Project teams are asked to deliver meaningful, high-impact work—often with limited staff, tight budgets, and competing priorities. The challenge isn’t just getting the work done. It’s staying focused, aligned, and sustainable while doing it.

When multiple initiatives, volunteers, and stakeholders are involved, even the most important work can lose momentum. Priorities shift, ownership becomes unclear, and progress is difficult to track. The result? Teams feel overwhelmed, and critical initiatives stall.

In this practical, real-world session, Project Insight partner Stacye Thrasher Brim and Mathew Sparkes will share a lightweight, scalable approach to managing mission driven projects—without adding unnecessary process.

You’ll learn how to bring clarity to your work, align your team around what matters most, and create simple systems that keep projects moving forward. Whether you’re managing programs, events, grants, or cross-functional initiatives, this session will give you tools you can apply immediately.

What You’ll Learn:

  • How to gain a clear, real-time view of all active and upcoming work across your organization
  • How to prioritize initiatives based on impact, capacity, and mission alignment
  • How to track progress with lightweight check-ins and clear reporting
  • How to create simple, consistent reporting that keeps stakeholders informed
  • How to close projects effectively and capture lessons learned to improve future work

Note- Attendees will also receive guide: “What to Consider Before Choosing a Project Management Tool for a Nonprofit” — a practical resource to help you select tools that fit your team’s size, budget, and mission.
