Social Media has been exploding with AI enhancements. There are several AI Apps that the public is using to enhance data and videos as well as manipulate them, such as:
There are even AI singing artist, who have social media pages, as well as recording contracts, who are considered as real artists, such as, Xania. Then there is ChatGPT which is an AI model that is short for generative pre-trained transformer (“coursea”). It is a computer system that is being used to recognize patterns and make decisions on its findings. ChatGPT is being used for research, recipes, as well as compiling information about yourself, if you plug in the right key words. There is currently one trend on Instagram, where you can plug in: “create a caricature of me and my job/hobby based on everything you know about me.” It will than compute a caricature of you with your interests. It is a cute digital trend on social media.
Social Media has taken a different spin, since the inventors such as Mark Zuckerburg, Steve Jobs, and Elon Musk came into the mix of things. We use social media for job applications, phone calls, doctor appointments, streaming services, such as TV Channels and UTUBE – streaming of different people lives, church service, or social events.
Then there is AI in Project Management, which is used to help in making the project manager’s job easier by streamlining, researching, or helping the job move quickly along. Here are some of the courses that PMI is offering for members to expand their AI knowledge, in hopes of making their job easier:
These are just a few of the courses that PMI offer, they also offer certificates in AI along with an extensive catalog of courses with different skill sets for enhance your knowledge.
With the use of AI in project management, it will lighten the workload a little, but from sessions I have attended, there is still a need for humans, so it is not replacing the human but aiding to help with the repetitive tasks.
This is the use of AI in project management according to ChatGPT:
1.Automating Repetitive Task
2. Risk Management
3. Budgeting and Financial Management
4. Predictive Analytics
5. Collaboration and Communication
6. Decision-Making Support
7. Time Tracking and Monitoring
8. Learning and Knowledge Sharing
9. Client Interaction and Reporting
AI can be an effective if used properly, but there are also some cons to using it, which are as follows:
Data Quality – AI relies on earlier stored information, so that information has to be correct in order for it to compute the desired outcome you are looking for. If the wrong information is store in the data, you will get the wrong answer. There is a saying that says, garbage in, garbage out. So, accuracy is important when storing the data, for the best outcome.
Change Management - Implementing AI into an existing project may require time, because the features and training will require time. Not everyone is using AI in the workplace, so there will be a learning curve, if your company decides to use it, so that everyone is on board.
Adoption Resistance – Some mangers make be resistance to using it since it is automation and would prefer the likes of a human. This will be one of the drawbacks in using AI because everyone is not ready for the latest tech rollouts and some lack trusting it for efficiency. Therefore, they would prefer to continue using humans instead of AI for peace of mind.
Overall, AI in project management can be an effective tool if the data is correct, it can help improve efficiency, decision-making, streamline workloads. It is more effective if its paired with humans, critical thinking, and planning skills.
In essence, AI is a tool that, if used for good, could be an effective enhancement to one’s daily lives or work progress. Not to mention, we are in an age where social media has taken on a life of its own and have progressed rapidly, with the help of AI. At this point in life, I do not see us going back to the old way of doing things no time soon (like working without it).
In closing, I will say, it is not a hard-core necessity to use AI, but it is a good choice to use especially in today’s information age which is very progressive.
